  1. RHIALTO THE MARVELLOUS 6 - A black ink and gray pencil drawing on an 11 x 14 size vellum paper. It appears in the book, "Rhialto the Marvellous" by Jack Vance.

I don't know where my imagination comes from, but surely it was nurtured by the wonders that I saw when I was growing up during the 1930s and 1940s. Almost every day something astounding was being invented, including the creation of "Astounding Science Fiction Magazine".

Billions of people on this earth have been born and died, billions are alive today, and not one single person, ever, has had, or now has, the same imagination as that of another. You may ask, "now Steve, how the hell can you possibly know that?" Well, I don't "know" that, but I believe it because none of us ever has the exact same education, or lives in the exact same environment, or has the exact same experiences in life, to produce the exact same imagination.

And it is this infinite divergence in each man's imagination that is probably man's greatest attribute. Before man can do anything he must first imagine it being done.

    Desideratum 4:
In this infinite universe where I live, everything moves in unison.
I am completely receptive to the abundant imagination of others.
They are the seeds from which my own imagination emerges, from which my own unique talent was created.
I will use my imagination right here, right now.
